Shrigley Hall in Bollington is a gorgeous wedding venue, the interior of the hall is very grand, with the marble pillars leading to the ornate staircase. Caroline and Graeme only booked me for their Shrigley Hall wedding photography ceremony and group photographs but I got there earlier than expected and took a few photographs of the reception room and the cake. I then took a couple of photographs in Caroline’s room with her dad and the bridesmaids before the ceremony. Caroline just couldn’t stop laughing during the ceremony, even walking down the ‘aisle’ she was giggling and it ended up as one of the funniest and happiest ceremonies I’ve seen for a long time.
After the ceremony, the bride, groom and all their guests made their way to the courtyard for a drink or two; this made a good spot to get the group photographs done on the stone steps at the back. Just as we were nearly finished one or two spots of rain started to fall so the three of us made our way to the front of the hall to make use of the stunning backdrop for the bride and groom photographs. As well as the stone pillars outside the hall, we also used the old chapel, which had fantastic views out towards Stockport and Manchester. The sky turned a deep blue colour and we could hear rumbles of thunder as well as seeing bolts of lightning in the distance. Luckily, it held off and we managed to get some gorgeous portrait photographs but when I finally got back to the car the heavens opened.
It was lovely to be part of such a special day and I wish Caroline and Graeme the best of luck for the future. Here’s a few from the day, hope you like them.
