Stockport wedding photographer and wedding venues

Stockport Plaza Vintage Wedding Photography

As a Stockport wedding photographer I get to work at some fab venues throughout the North West. Stockport is no exception. As is the norm these days, new wedding venues are springing up all over the town. I’ve tried to organise the venues into categories depending on the style of Stockport wedding that you are planning. With these venues, you’ll be spoilt for choice with Stockport’s rich heritage behind them and your wedding photography will thank you for it too.

Take a look through my Stockport wedding photography gallery to give you an idea of what is possible around Stockport but if you are to travel slightly further afield then venues in Manchester may be your thing so take a look at my Manchester wedding venues page.

Here are a few ideas and some of the best Stockport wedding venues, including the high end through to shabby chic venues. I’d love to come along for the ride with you so why not get in touch with me for your wedding photography in Stockport.

Village Hotel Club Manchester Cheadle is perfect for a romantic getaway in a unique setting. Bredbury Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies and has very large gardens which are perfect for your wedding photography. The Alma Lodge has been on the A6 for years and is still as popular as ever. It is close to Bramhall Park which could be used for your Stockport wedding photos.

For a touch of history mixed with luxury a timber framed manor house

Bramall Hall has recently undergone a huge restoration, the black and white Tudor manor house can hold you ceremony and wedding reception and the gardens are just magnificent. Chadkirk Chapel is a beautiful restored Grade II listed building dating back to 1307, it’s set in the tranquil grounds of the Chadkirk Estate, it really is breathtaking. Cheadle House has been restored to it’s former glory with huge wooden beams on show.

A bit different, quirky, unique Stockport wedding venues

The Plaza in Stockport has had a mixed history, from it’s grand opening in the 1930’s to the Mecca bingo hall in the 70’s and 80’s. It has been restored to it’s former glory now by volunteers. You’ll tie the knot on stage and have you name up in lights, not for the shy and retiring out there. Robinsons Brewery is also a unique venue in Stockport, for the beer lovers why not have your photos taken between the mash tuns?

A relaxed Pub/restaurant wedding day

Oddfellows On The Park is an unusual and intimate venue, it’s set in the grounds of Bruntwood Park in Cheadle and is fast becoming one of Stockport’s premier weddings venues. Huffy’s, in Stockport’s old town, provides an informal venue for your wedding. Set in the middle of the beautiful black and white buildings around, a great setting for your photos. Chapters Club on Hillgate allows complete flexibility when planning your wedding and it has it’s own rooftop garden.

Rustic Northern style

Hyde Bank Farm is in Romiley, the barn and grounds have a great rustic feel, with options for photography within the grounds and the surrounding areas. Roman Lakes, in Marple is probably Stockport’s only choice for tipis.

What would I look for in a wedding venue?

Well something that is photographically stunning of course and what about the weather? Well this is Stockport, so it’s either going to rain hard, drizzle or if you’re very lucky, spit! Seriously though, my approach is to work with what you have. If it’s blue skies and sun this can bring it’s own challenges . If it decides to rain, then we have to be prepared. I bring along a selection of umbrellas but a venue with a nice spacious interior or with some unusual features can save the day if it was to rain.

Stockport is in such a great location, you might like to have a look at my Cheshire Wedding Photography and Venues page, or are you looking for a city wedding? Them try my Manchester Wedding photography page.
