Lisa and Dan had booked me to be their Larkspur Lodge Wedding Photographer a long time ago. I’d met Lisa when she was a wedding coordinator at The Castlefield Rooms in Manchester. Lisa had seen a previous wedding that I’d shot at Larkspur Lodge (or Leicester Warren Hall as it was then).
Knutsford Wedding Photography
This was a big day and a lot of it was happening in the morning for me. First up was a quick visit to The Cottons Hotel where Dan, his best man and his parents were busy getting ready. I didn’t spend too long there, just a flying visit really but it’s always nice to get a few of the groom preparations in before visiting the bride. Next stop was not Lisa but in fact Larkspur Lodge, where Lisa really wanted me to photograph the table settings and the ceremony room before anybody arrived. After I’d finished there I took the short drive to King Street in Knutsford town centre where Lisa, her mum and bridesmaids were busily getting ready. I love this part of Knutsford, it has so much history and character and The Rose & Crown where Lisa had spent the night has 350 years of takes to tell. It was all go when I got there with the make up and hair pro’s all doing there stuff.
Chauffeur Driven VW Campervan
Lisa and the girls were being driven from The Rose & Crown to Larkspur in a gorgeous old VW Camper called Clyde. This was supplied by Lovely Wheels who keep Clyde and another couple of classic VW’s in tip top condition.
Summer Wedding at Larkspur Lodge
Being summer in Cheshire, you never know what the weather is going to be like. One minute it looked like rain and the next the sun was out, it was just one of those days. The ceremony room at Larkspur Lodge is quite unique in the way that it has no windows at all but this just adds to the beautiful atmosphere that you get here. After the ceremony Lisa, myself and Dan took advantage of the sun peeking out and we decided to take the group shots just outside. After they were done we took a walk around the country lane at the back of the lodge for the bride and groom shots while The Bourbon St Band kept the guests entertained.
Party Time at Larkspur Lodge
After the wedding breakfast and speeches, it was time for games in the gardens and then of course the first dance and party time. The DJ for the evening was Dave’s Disco who did a sterling job as usual.
I am so lucky with the couples who book me. Lisa & Dan were no exception to this. Thank you both, so so much. You made the day everything you wanted, and it was a true honour to be there with you.
