Peckforton Castle Wedding Photographer
Mega blog post alert! but no apologies here, I try to keep my blog posts down to around 80 photos but I just can’t do it for this one.
Louise & Steve chose me to be their wedding photographer at Peckforton Castle last week and what a day it turned out to be. You might remember their engagement shoot a few weeks ago at Castlefield in Manchester and they looked fantastic on camera so I was really looking forward to this one. The drive down to Peckforton took me less than hour but after I arrived an incident on the road made the trip for Louise’s dad a bit of a nightmare and he was lucky to get there in time to give his daughter away.
I started off the day by taking a few shots on the short walk from the car park to the castle where the resident peacock decided to give me the full display of it’s feathers. Then I made my way up to Louise’s room where she and the girls were busy getting ready. Downstairs, Steve was doing what all good grooms do, he was in the bar, or the brasserie if you live in Peckforton!
Steve had stayed the night at The Wild Boar Hotel just down the road in Tarporley and had been given a very nice brand new Hyundai Genesis for the weekend by his employer. We took advantage of the morning sun outside for a few photos and included the car as well.
Then it was back upstairs and in time for Louise to put her dress on before the long walk to the Great Hall. You can see the emotion and pride on Steve’s face when he knew that Louise was walking down the aisle.
After the ceremony it was outside again for the falconry show which featured owls, eagles, vultures and the cutest bundle of feathers I have ever seen, a baby owl who everyone fell in love with. Then I was led up dozens of stone steps and onto the roof for the obligatory group shot.
The staff at Peckforton couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful but the biggest thanks have to go to Louise & Steve who made me feel so welcome and looked after me all day, it was quite something. The bridesmaids too, fantastic girls, Louise’s dad Dave and all of the guests who just made this wedding the amazing day it was.
I did try to get this down to 80 but had to settle for 160! If you are looking for wedding photography at Peckforton Castle, give me a shout!
