Lyme Park portrait photography

Last Sunday I did a shoot for Claire and her three children, Jake, Autumn and Aiden. Her mum and dad and brother also came along to make it a real family afternoon out. We chose Lyme Park in Cheshire as the location. Lyme’s a great place for a day out with the kids, plenty to see and do in the massive grounds as well as the historic house and gardens run by the National Trust.

Claire had brought changes of clothes for the two younger children and they loved dressing up. Jake was a bit apprehensive at first but soon got into the swing of it and was posing like a professional within no time. After a game of footy and a few shots up at the house, we wandered down to the adventure playground where they had a whale of a time.

After ice cream, it was onto the stream, the younger ones were well prepared with their wellies and had a good paddle. I wasn’t as well prepared but did manage to stay out of the water and balanced on a few stones in the stream.

Two and half hours later, it was time to go home but I think you’ll agree we got some fantastic shots which will be treasured forever. Autumn is a great time for photography, the colours, the sun low in the sky all makes for fantastic lighting, so if you fancy a fun shoot of your own, get in touch soon!

PS thanks to ‘Silly Ste’ for arranging the stunts.
