Family photography – Lyme Park, Cheshire
Last weekend I joined, Iain, Ashleigh and their 9 month old daughter Ivy for a lifestyle family photography shoot in Lyme Park, just outside Stockport. They had friends over from Scotland for the weekend and they came along too for a nosey and to be used as buggy pushers!
We met up early at 10am to avoid the hordes of visitors to the popular National Trust site. We started off by photographing in the courtyard to Lyme Hall before heading off up the hill to the Cage which was built over 400 years ago as a hunting lodge, and has superb views of the 1300 acres of parkland and views towards Manchester and the Cheshire plains. It was a bit wild up there, the wind was howling, but we got some great shots.
Then it was time to head down to the lake to take shelter from the wind, although that didn’t bother Ivy, she was all smiles throughout, almost as if she knew she was the star attraction. She loved the ducks on the lake and then had a go on the swings in the play park which is a recent addition to Lyme. After a few more shots being swung here, there and everywhere it was time for me to say goodbye and to go home to start editing the photos.
