Cherry Orchard Farm Wedding Photography Cheshire
I was totally delighted when Kelly and Richard invited me to be part of their special wedding day. I drove down to Oakmere in Cheshire to the wedding venue called Cherry Orchard Farm. Brothers Ryan and Lee Cartwright run this fantastic place. After teaming up with landowner Richard Wilding and starting Delamere Events, they turned this huge plot into one of Cheshire’s premier wedding venues. Cherry Orchard Farm – a place I want to come back to and photograph again.
The groom at The Walton Arms
My day started with a few shots of Richard and one of his best men, Scott, at Scott’s house before moving on to Richard’s mum’s house. Kelly was getting ready here along with her flower girls and a few other family members. The bride and flower girls all looked amazing.
Then I was off again to The Walton Arms which is a couple of minutes walk from the church. After a few photos of Richard and his 10 best men (yes you read that correct) it was time for the ceremony. The weather wasn’t being kind to us at this point. It had been raining most of the morning but it then decided to absolutely throw it down.
St John the Evangelist Church for the ceremony
St John’s, is a beautiful place for the ceremony, but they are quite strict when it comes to photographers, so I was asked to stay at the back of the church, but still managed to capture some beautiful photos. I hardly use my telephoto lens for weddings, preferring to use a short 35mm lens to get in close, but this was one of those times when I was glad I always carry it with me. After lots of congratulations, it was time to leave the church and get out of the rain and head to Cherry Orchard Farm where my wedding photography adventure continued.
Cherry Orchard Farm – one of Cheshire’s best wedding venues
The word picturesque doesn’t do this place justice, it just looked incredible and amazingly after all of that rain, the dark clouds moved on and we even saw some sun. Delamere Events allow couples to choose either marquees or tipis and I was over the moon that Kelly & Richard chose the tipis. Five in all, all connected together to make the most amazing wedding space imaginable.
Tipi Cheshire weddings
Outside the tipis, the bride and groom had thought of everything to keep everyone entertained, no matter how young or old. From space hoppers and baseball for the energetic to lazy romantic walks around the lake for those who didn’t want to exert themselves too much. The weather held too and with a stunning sunset what a great wedding to be a photographer at. Shot after shot was great – I was having so much fun.
Music from The Likes
The Likes provided the music for the evening entertainment. I’ve always found some bands at weddings to be hit and miss but these four musicians from Leicester were absolutely fantastic. Take a look at their videos on the website for more information.
So there you have it, five locations, tipis, space hoppers and I think one of the most laid back and relaxed bride and grooms that I have had the pleasure of working with. Kelly and Richard, this is your day.
