Walkden Gardens Engagement Shoot – Pre Wedding Manchester Photography
Jenna & Andrew suggested this little gem for their Walkden Gardens engagement shoot. I’ve never been here before but it had been recommended to me a couple of weeks earlier so I was more than happy to take a look to see what all the fuss was about.
A small oasis in the suburbs of Manchester
Walkden Gardens isn’t a big park but wow, it is so beautiful. It’ll definitely be on my list of wedding locations to take brides and grooms to in future, especially if the wedding venue has little in the way of photographic opportunities.
A little history
Walkden gardens takes its name from Harry Walkden who lived in a house called The Raft which is still there to this day on Derbyshire Rd. He owned a plant nursery on the site of the gardens and the land was passed to Sale Council when he died in 1949 with his wishes that the land be used for the public good and laid out as a park or botanical gardens.
Back to the wedding couple
Jenna & Andrew get married next month at Leicester Warren Hall in Cheshire and this was the first time I’d met them. Talk about easy to photograph, nothing phased them. I can’t wait for their wedding in June. The engagement shoot or pre wedding shoot if you like, is a great way to get to know each other before the big day. It’ll get you used the camera and my style of photography. Every couple I photograph like this has loved it and said it really prepared them for the wedding day.
Before Jenna & Andrew’s big day arrives, why not take a look at some of my other wedding photography in Manchester. if you like what you see, then get in touch to see if I’m available on your wedding date.
