St. Vincent De Paul, Altrincham – Cheshire Christening Photographer
As a Cheshire Christening Photographer I photograph at St. Vincent De Paul in Altrincham quite a lot. That’s a good thing as it really is a beautiful building with lots of natural light coming in from the windows, which is a boon for photographers as some churches don’t have this luxury.
Hayley & Ben had booked me well in advance after seeing my other gallery’s from Christenings here. It was little Hattie’s day and she certainly stole the show and was smiling at every opportunity.
Here’s a small amount of photos from the day. As usual, they are all unposed and I photograph whatever happens as it happens. When we come to the group shots afterwards, I aim to get these done and dusted in around 20 minutes so you and your guests can get on with enjoying the occasion.
A Little History
St Vincent’s began in 1847, when Father O’Reilly said Mass in a house on George Street in Altrincham. The parish then moved to New Street, which is just off Regent Road. In the 1850’s, two cottages were bought and converted into a church and presbytery and a school was also added. Fr John Rafferty was appointed to St Vincent’s in 2005 after spending four years as parish priest at St Patrick’s in Telford and prior to that as Spiritual Director at the Venerable English College in Rome. He originally comes from Northwich in Cheshire and was ordained in 1969. Since then he has served at parishes in Birkenhead, Knutsford, Bebington, Ellesmere Port, Stockport and Hazel Grove.
