Regular readers of the blog will have have seen Claire and Darren’s engagement photography a few weeks ago at Vernon Park in Stockport, and this blog is about me being their Peckforton Castle wedding photographer last weekend at Tarporley in Cheshire.
When I left home for Peckforton the weather in Manchester was lovely but that soon changed as I got closer to Peckforton. As I drove into the car park the heavens opened and it stayed like that for most of the day. The rain didn’t dampen the atmosphere inside the castle though.
The Great Hall had been dressed with flower arrangements and lighting, it made for a fantastic ceremony with Claire’s son and brother providing the music and singing. After the ceremony we tried to get outside for the group shots but the wind was so strong we just headed back to the Great Hall to do the shots there. After wandering around the castle for the bride and groom portraits it was then time for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
To end the night off the cake cutting was done with the ceremonial sword, provided by Peckforton and then it was time to dance the night away.
Here’s a few photos of the day, hope you like.
