Haworth 1940’s weekend 2012

Had my second trip over to the Haworth 1940’s weekend yesterday. Hundreds had turned out in vintage dress and uniforms and there were plenty of old cars and trucks too. The event has been running for some years now but it was unbelievably busy with only a few chances to get decent shots because of the size of the crowds.

The Spitfire fly past was called off again, not sure why, the weather seemed fine to me. The effort people put in to attend amazes me. Their uniforms are the genuine article from the 1940’s and everyone looks fantastic. Set against the backdrop of Main Street in Haworth it really does look authentic and gives the feel that you are walking back in time.

Anyway here’s a few from the day, hope you like them.
