So I took a break from wedding photography and headed down to Devon for a few days. No bulky DSLR this time and hardly any photos of people. My love of photography first started with taking pictures of landscapes and coastlines so it was nice to head out with my compact Canon G7X and just take photos of ‘things’ I happened to see.
It was this camera’s first proper outing and although the quality of a compact is never going to be up to the same standard as a full frame DSLR it coped pretty well with everything I threw at it, hardly any processing on the images shown below.
All the photos below come from Torquay, Babbacombe, Dartmouth and Brixham. I visited Brixham twice, the second time it looked like a storm was rolling in from the sea, the hills shrouded in mist, luckily the rain stayed away but it made for some very dramatic, misty shots. Although most of them do look a little mean and moody, there was quite a lot of sun, but you can’t beat a little bit of drama in the sky.
