Well here it is, the great Heaton House Farm wedding photography blog. My last wedding of the year and my busiest year yet, with a season that started way back in February and what a way to finish. Awesome venue, awesome guests and the awesome Bride & Groom, Danielle & Darren. My day started with a one hour drive to the farm, up in the hills, on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border.

I was worried about the weather but needn’t have bothered, the rain stayed away even though it was pretty chilly up there. I took a few detail shots of the venue, then met up with Darren and Sean, his Dad/Best Man in the bar. Amy, the wedding coordinator, gave me a look around the ceremony room and wow, well I’ll let the photos do the talking on that one. After that, I ventured into Cloud View, the room where the Bride and Bridesmaids were getting ready. Danielle and the girls were on top form and everyone was very relaxed.

Then, after a quick visit next door for a few shots of the page boys and little flower girl, it was time to get into position for the ceremony. Darren looked superb in his suit, but I think he’ll agree with me when I say he was totally upstaged by Danielle as she was led in by her Dad, she looked amazing. Everything about the ceremony was just perfect, the venue staff had done a great job with dressing and lighting the room was just the icing on the cake. As well as being worried about the weather, I thought that the late ceremony (3.30pm) would mean we’d lose any natural light outside for the Bride and Groom shots but I was wrong.

After the ceremony, we headed straight out into the water gardens and squeezed as much light out of the setting sun as we could. The latest cameras handle low light really well and none do it better than the latest Nikon equipment.

Finally before frostbite set in, we headed up to the old oak tree for the obligatory photograph. Huge thanks goes to one of the staff members who carried Danielle’s train around and helped straighten the dress for every single shot, I didn’t catch your name but you really do deserve a mention.

After the speeches and cake cutting it was time for the dancing, the music and singer were both superb and got everyone up onto the dance floor. I left as the party continued, but what a day and a wedding I’ll remember for a long time.

If you are thinking of choosing this venue for your wedding venue, you really can’t go wrong……the venue itself……the staff…… everything just perfect. Danielle & Darren, thanks for having me as your wedding photographer, it was a pleasure.
