Summer engagement shoot at Lotherton Hall, only a short drive from Leeds but with a definite country feel.
It feels like a long time since I first met Laura & Dan on Skype. They were planning their wedding at Whitley Hall in Yorkshire and had seen my photos of Liz & Gary’s wedding there a couple of years ago. Fast forward a few months and it was finally time to meet up. Laura had chosen Lotherton Hall as the location and she couldn’t have chosen a better place. It held special memories for Laura as her grandparents loved it also and have a memorial bench in the gardens, which you’ll see below.
Engagement shoot in the Leeds countryside
Lotherton Hall is situated just to the east of Leeds city centre and has a real countryside feel to it. There are formal gardens as well as parkland and a beautiful little stone chapel. As we met up in the early evening, there was hardly a person in sight and we virtually had the place to ourselves. That’s always good news if you are photographing people who are a little camera shy. But that isn’t Laura & Dan, they came alive in front of the camera and look amazing in the shots, as I think you’ll agree.
An engagement shoot at a place with so many memories
After a walk around the formal gardens and to take a few shots of the memorial bench which is being printed and displayed at the wedding, we headed over to the fields. Good job Laura wasn’t wearing her wedding dress and shoes for these shots, which is the beauty of these pre-wedding sessions.
